Rob Barham and Justin Doroshenko spent 10 days down in the Deep South teaching a Wilderness First Responder course to a psyched group. The camp that was used as the course site was fantastic and set on a beautiful lake. Our students were predominantly Outward Bound Southeast staff members, but we sprinkled in a few others from around the country for some added flavor. Despite Rob informing us every day that it was indeed hot (regularly over 100 degree heat index…), a good time was had by all. The students were excited to learn and really enjoyed when “bad things” kept happening. It was easy to hone their new found skills as “injured” patients seem to pop up left and right. And as a bonus, Rob and Justin took advantage of a rare day off mid-course to travel down the Alabama coast on an epic local seafood eating tour.
Thanks to our 13 fantastic students for a great course! Hope everyone enjoyed it and we hope everyone joins us on our facebook page as well!
