Wilderness EMT (WEMT 3+1 Format)
Landmark Learning is an authorized Teaching Institute for the NC Office of EMS. Landmark currently has a 99.9% end of course pass rate, with nearly 99% of our students passing the National Registry exam on their first attempt. The first three weeks of the experience is focused on EMT training, with an immersion into urban care. You will complete mandatory clinical time on an ambulance and/or in an emergency room setting, and be eligible for both the NC OEMS exam and the NREMT exam at course end. At the end of the EMT experience, tack on the NOLS Wilderness Upgrade for Medical Professionals to receive your WEMT certification. Landmark is the only place where you can receive your WEMT training in this unique format.
ASHI Instructor Course, Basic First Aid and CPR
Our Training Center prerequisites for this course include current minimum certification as an EMT and current certification in a professional level CPR program. A skills test and written examination are given at the beginning of this course to verify eligibility.
Basic First Aid
ASHI and Landmark offer more than just CPR. Here’s the next step in managing common illnesses and injuries while waiting for additional help to arrive. This course covers shock, controlling bleeding, managing spinal and athletic injuries, asthma, diabetes, seizures, and environmental emergencies associated with heat and cold, insect and animal bites, and allergies.
CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
Adult CPR training for individuals who will be working primarily with people ages 8 (eight) years old and up. "CPR" includes training in Rescue Breathing, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and relieving Foreign Body Airway Obstructions. AED use is included in this course. Child and Infant training is also available in an additional module.
This CPR training is intended for healthcare workers, and for outfitters with professional level CPR permitting or insurance requirements. This course includes Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, along with Bag-Valve-Mask and Two-Person Rescuer Techniques. A skills check is also available for healthcare professionals renewing their CPR Pro certification through ASHI's online refresher training.
Emergency Medical Technician Intensive
If you're looking for a rapid, informative and thorough way to complete the 190-hour curriculum the State of North Carolina requires to become an Emergency Medical Technician, try this intensive EMT-Basic course. In three weeks you can learn what you need to take the National Registry exam, as well as, the North Carolina state exam and earn your EMT credentials.
EMT Refresher Training Program
Time to be recertified? Our EMT Refresher Training Program (RTP) makes certain you obtain the 24-hours of core curriculum training required by the National Registry and includes the Scope of Practice evaluation.
This four-hour workshop prepares participants to manage allergic reactions, anaphylaxis, and epinephrine administration by incorporating practical scenarios, mini-lectures, and live sterile injection practice. Course completion results in a four-year North Carolina state certificate.
