Course Logistics

Meals:
Not included - town is 10 minutes from our base, with ample restaurants and grocery store options. Available for student use are two standard refrigerators, two microwaves, coffee pots and hot water urns, as well as three double-burner induction stoves with required magnetic pots-pans. Cups, plates, bowls, and silverware are also available for student use. Students will each have a cubby to use for dry food storage and use the three-sink system for washing-sanitizing at the end of meals.

Lodging/Camping:
Camping (bring your own gear) or bunk space (bring your sleeping bag and pillow) is available by reservation. These lodging options are located by foot, up the hill behind the Cane Creek Lodge. Campers are invited to use the showers in the Student Lounge area. Bunkhouses are 4 max to a room, and we assign by gender. Each room has its own bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. Each pair of rooms shares a common connecting space and covered front porch for downtime and community. $200: Camping $375: Bunkhouse Arrival is from 12PM-9PM the day before the course starts, and is self-checkin. Housing assignments and the grounds orientation will be on the magnet board in the lobby. Feel free to arrive the next morning before class begins at 8AM. Students must be packed and moved out prior to 8AM on the last day of the course.

Transportation:

Please review the gear lists for EMT Intensive and NOLS Wilderness Upgrade for Medical Professionals to be best prepared. State and National Registry written testing occurs after successful completion of the course, on each student's own schedule. Testing must be completed within one year of course end date to be eligible for certification. To use Americorps vouchers or gain college credit, please contact the Landmark Learning office for specific directions or visit: www.landmarklearning.edu/content/college-credit Continuing Education: This course is pre-approved for 48 hours of EMT Continuing Education Hours by the State of Colorado and the Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE, formerly CECBEMS). Through joint sponsorship with the Wilderness Medical Society physicians may earn 43 hours of continuing education for participation in this course. Additional costs apply. Active members of the Wilderness Medical Society may earn up to 35.75 hours of credit towards a Fellowship of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM).
